PRAISE REPORT: DAMON LITTLE
We've been waiting in anticipation to hear the Good News on Damon Little, the quartet gospel singer of Damon Little and Nu Beginnings. The singer underwent heart surgery on April 22nd. This is his own account of what happened.
"As I ministered last week in the Carolinas, and was preparing for dates in Florida and Overseas; I noticed three times that I experienced shortness of breath. I had no chest discomfort but I remained concerned and mindful of the changes that were occurring in my body. The spirit led me to go home instead of to Florida and get myself checked out with a doctor.
"I went to the emergency room thinking I had a sinus infection and when I entered the emergency room, yes saints I lied—I told them my chest was hurting so that I could be seen quicker, the EKG was taken and came back great. I was told to go back to the waiting room but I then informed the nurses that my chest was really beginning to bother me. I was then escorted away for a cat scan that found fluid in my lungs. This was the first sign of congestive heart failure.
Damon reached out to all of his fans, friends and family and asked that we pray.
And prayers went up!
You will be happy to know that Damon is doing well at home recovering and states that the operation went very well. Here's his update.
"As promised, this is an update to inform my fans, friends, family, and the gospel music industry on the progress of my surgery. As Momma used to say, this is from the horse’s mouth”. Thanks be to God, my operation went very well; I had a few slight setbacks, but I am alive and I want to give God all the praise. As you guys know I had major open heart surgery, I was told before surgery that I probably would need stents, a pacemaker, or animal parts for the bypass surgery, but God fixed it that when they opened me they were able to repair my heart, because supernatural healing had already begun. I didn’t need a pacemaker, or foreign animal parts to complete the surgery."
He celebrated his birthday on April 27th and is in Good Spirits. He's asking for us to continue to pray and if you would like to reach out to him and his family, here is where you can send your mail.

What's New in Entertainment--Watching TV on the Web?
What's new in Entertainment? I'll tell you what's new. This whole Web Series business. Well...at least it's new to me. In fact it's so new that I had to really dig and do research to find out first, what it is and also how popular it is, so that I can keep you posted on what's happening in Entertainment.
So the first question that I had to answer was: What is a web series? According to Wikepedia, a web series is defined as "...a series of videos, generally in episodic form, released on the Internet or also by mobile or cellular phone, and part of the newly emerging medium called web television."
Yes...people are actually getting their daily dose of television programming from the web these days. And some of your favorite well known producers, directors and film/tv writers are going in this direction.
I was first prompted to take a look into web tv when I learned that one of my favorite comedians, Tony Rock is starring in a new web series, Walk this Way, also starring actor Michael K. Williams; who played the character "Omar" in the HBO series The Wire.
Two highly talented actors starring in a web-program together from the newly-launched Alright TV, which IMDb describes as, "a faith/family-friendly YouTube channel created by Robert Johnson and Tracey E. Edmonds, in an agreement with YouTube."
We all know who Tracey Edmonds is right? The EX wife of Eddie Murphy.
Well she is half of the creative mind behind this web-comedy based on a pastor, played by Michael K Williams, of a mega church who counsels and provides "leadership" to his parishioners. Tony Rock just so happens to play one of those parishioners...and I took a moment to take a look at the first episode and I was IN TEARS from laughing so hard.
To take a look at the episode...check out the link below.

In watching this clip alone, I wondered what other good shows was I missing that is only happening on the web? Or what other well known actors and producers had their hand in web programming? Shockingly, I found that Mona Scott-Young, creator and Executive Producer of the VH1 hit drama reality show, Love & Hip Hop is also a Web programmer.
Mona's company, Monami Entertainment along with Direct Media, have joined forces in creating a live stream web program on GetintheMyx.com. The show which airs every Monday on the web is set up like a debate, where we get to watch different celebrities, bloggers, and on-air personalities go back and forth on contrasting ideas and opinions on a specific topic. For instance, on one webisode, radio personality K Foxx debated against Vivian Billings, of HipHopGossipSite.com. The topic was gossip. Hmmm...interesting right?
Who else, you ask? Well....
Nicci Gilbert, the R&B songstress of the group Brownstone and creator/producer of R&B Divas, is also getting her feet wet in the web series business with a show titled, Divas & Cocktails.
I already know what you're thinking... "that sounds like a regular Friday night hanging out with my girls." Well...that's kind of what it is. Rollingout.com describes the web series as a talk show that combines "the perfect mix of late night discussion, lip service, lifestyle, fashion, glam, headline buzz and celebrity dish.”
Nicci is set to dish the dirt and chat it up with the likes of, " 'NFL Wives' Chanita Foster, Stacii J Johnson of “Black Girls Radio”, Hannah Cashimere, and for the male perspective, BET and Tyler Perry’s Rodney Perry." The show starts May 1st at 11pm, following the premiere of TV One’s “R&B Divas," on Divasandcocktails.com.
If you want to check the clip of Divas & Cocktails...click the link.
http://rollingout.com/videos/rb-divas-nicci-gilbert-new-talk-show-divas-and-cocktails/
I guess I have to make an effort to take myself out of the stone age and get with the NEW program. And apparently, those new programs are on the web. I'll have to check them out. But, I will say...my patience is very thin when it comes to watching something on the internet. I do NOT like when the content is delayed, and takes FOREVER to continue. UGGGGH! But we shall see. What do you think? Will you be checking out any of the Web Series to come? There seems to be some good stuff out there and you know I'll keep you posted.

Lauryn's Open Letter
It seems as if Jay-Z is not the only one talking about or actually writing Open Letters these days. The Ex Fugee member, Ms Lauryn Hill has released a letter addressing many of the recent talked about issues regarding her potential jail sentence for failing to pay taxes and also her new record deal.
This is what she writes,
MLH
Deep right? All I know is she herself has confirmed that there is a new record deal and there will be new Lauryn music. However, as she stated....this Lauryn is NOT the same Lauryn that we know and remember from 10 years ago. She's representing a new element in life so I have to wonder what her music will say about who she is and where is in her life right now. I guess we'll have to wait and see. In the mean time and in between time. We can stay familiar with this one....
-OhThatsWanda
This is what she writes,
It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music.
I’ve remained silent, after an extensive healing process. This has been a 10+ year battle, for a long time played out behind closed doors, but now in front of the public eye. This is an old conflict between art and commerce… free minds, and minds that are perhaps overly tethered to structure.
This is about inequity, and the resulting disenfranchisement caused by it. I’ve been fighting for existential and economic freedom, which means the freedom to create and live without someone threatening, controlling, and/or manipulating the art and the artist, by tying the purse strings.
It took years for me to get out of the ‘parasitic’ dynamic of my youth, and into a deal that better reflects my true contribution as an artist, and (purportedly) gives me the control necessary to create a paradigm suitable for my needs. I have been working towards this for a long time, not just because of my current legal situation, but because I am an artist, I love to create, and I need the proper platform to do so.
The nature of my new business venture, as well as the dollar amount reported, was inaccurate, only a portion of the overall deal. Keep in mind, my past recordings have sold over 50,000,000 units worldwide, earning the label a tremendous amount of money (a fraction of which actually came to me).Only a completely complicated set of traps, manipulations, and inequitable business arrangements could put someone who has accomplished the things that I have, financially in need of anything. I am one artist who finds value in openly discussing the dynamics within this industry that force artists to compromise or distort themselves and what they do, rather than allowing them to make the music that people need. There are volumes that could (and will) be said.

Twerking Gon' Wrong in Walmart (Vocals by Fantasia.)
What's the definition of a HOT MESS!!! That would be this.....
A late night trip to Walmart (in heels and a leopard dress) is clearly what prompts a Twerkin Session in the middle of the aisle in front of the Lite Beer. But wait...it doesn't stop there.
Then we move to bake goods section...and continue to drop it...drop it low.
SMH!!! I'm not sure what song popped in this young lady's head at the time the twerkin began...or maybe she just had a flashback from her experience at the club she just left and wanted to revisit that moment...(not just once but SEVERAL times in SEVERAL sections of Club WALMART.)
Whatever song it was that popped in her head....it can't be better than the one my girl Fantasia did as she watched the youtube video of this lady pop lock and droppin it, during her recent visit to Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.
Fantasia did one of Jerome's moves from Martin (sitcom) and said, I wrote a song about it....like to hear it....hear it go. It's called...."Twerking by the Cakes."
Here are her Lyrics that she sang in her southern twang as she snapped the rhythm...."Twerking by the cakes....twerking by the cakes...twerking by the cakes-yes I'm twerking by the cakes. Now I'm twerking by the fish...I'm twerking by the fish.....hold up.....now I'm twerking by the milk."
No one can sing a theme song to a girl gettin it poppin in Walmart like Fantasia. To see and hear Fantasia on Andy Cohen. Check the link below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkYN8IpWD3Q
And of course-I have to add my (POV).....Please STOP Twerkin by the cakes ladies. Even though Fantasia did you justice with this song....it is still a HOT MESS! #Knock it off
And yes....all that jumping and popping is making that clapping sound.

Jamie Foxx--So Much for Looks huh?
This is the picture of Jamie Foxx that has everyone bugging out. Is it a good look for him???
Actually YES it is a good look for him. And if you check out the movies next month, in May 2013, you might just agree.
Jamie is geared up to hit the big screen in the new Spider Man movie, "The Amazing Spider Man 2," where he plays Max Dillon, the alter-ego of Electro, and the above picture is of Jamie in full character.
All Spider Man fans can look forward to seeing Jamie as a villain in this movie and for some reason, I think he's going to give a killer performance in this role. From the picture...it looks like he's already giving his all to this character. Look for it to hit a theater near you soon.

Fantasia--Working that Upscale.
(SNAPPING MY FINGERS...)YOU BETTA WORK MS FANTASIA!!!!!
Who shut it down on the the May cover issue of Upscale Magazine? That would be the Southern Belle, Fantasia Barrino!!!
Is it just me or do you feel like her new single "Lose to Win," is her theme song and it stays on repeat in her head in EVERYTHING she's been doing lately? It seems like it's a Brand New Fantasia and I love it!!!!
From the moment she did the interview with Jet magazine and they totally disrespected her first by using photos from over ten years ago for the cover and then by posting a not so kind FB post on how Fantasia struggles at reading. Fantasia is not taking a back seat to ANYTHING that's is going on in life anymore. She spoke out against Jet via Twitter by posting this pic (of their cover photo) and had this to say,
“This saddens Me!!! It is clear that this picture is 10 Years Old and JET Magazine puts it on the Cover!! After I send them the NEW LOOK AND DIRECTION. . SAD!!! I WANT A PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM JET. Now im not sure if the interview is correct. SEE!! America they and use me as they crash Dummy BUT NO MORE. IF I DONT STAND FOR SOMETHING ILL FALL FOR ANYTHING.”
"If I don't stand for something I'll fall for anything." True Indeed Ms Tasia!!! And she's is doing a phenomenal job at standing for something. These days Fantasia is standing for Strength! She stands for New Beginnings! And let us NOT forget how she is standing tall as hell for SEXY-- like it's nobody's business.
I say it again....YOU BETTA WORK!!
In her interview with Upscale Fantasia spoke about being herself and being comfortable enough to be honest about who she is and what she has endured. This is what she had to say,
“Everything that I’ve talked about and put out there, it’s helped someone. It might not have helped the person who had something smart to say or had a joke or whatever, but there’s 10 other people that’s inspired by my story. So I wouldn’t change anything. I’m just going to continue to be that person that is open and honest because that’s me, that’s Fantasia.”
And one person she has inspired through her music and her story is myself. Clearly I am and have been a Fantasia fan, supporter & encourager....however you choose to refer to it these days. I applaud her for her ability to shine through all the bullsh*- that she has been through publicly and still come out #WINNING!
This is why "Lose to Win," the first single off the album Side Effects of You is perfection for her and also the perfect selection for her recent performance on American Idol. She shut it down as only Tasia can.
Keep winning Fantasia! And keep standing for "all things moving forward."
If you don't have the album yet, Side Effects of You, my advice....go get that and BLAST "Without Me."

The Best Man Adds R&B to the Cast.
As if we're not already excited and anxious about The Best Man Holiday(TBM2), set to hit theaters on November 15, 2013; Director Malcolm D Lee has added more surprises.
First we were teased with the overall plot of the movie by Terrance Howard. While on the set of his movie, Dead Man Down, Terrance revealed that there will be some TRAGEDY in the upcoming TBM2. Here's his description of the movie,
"The Best Man II, it shows where people go, whether they’re doing the right thing or the wrong thing, and how much we need each other within our community.” He also became teary-eyed during the interview just thinking about the story line saying, ..."there’s some tragedy in it.”
Oh No! What does that mean??? Nevertheless...I will be in front of the big screen in anticipation to find out. Especially with the two newest R&B members joining the cast. Who are they you ask. These two....
That's right! Sources say that South Carolina's own Anthony Hamilton and the Sultry Marsha Ambrosius has been added to the cast of the TBM2. Here's what Director Malcolm Lee tweeted about the cast,
"I said it once and I’ll say it again: The Best Man Holiday has an awesome cast. Incredible work today for an incredible sequence! @TayeDiggs @NiaLong @justsanaa @Morris_Chestnut @HaroldPerrineau @Real_Terrence_H @monicacalhoun1 plus @HamiltonAnthony the the lovely @MarshaAmbrosius perform a classic song . What a day! Goodnight!,"
It's only April and I'm already looking forward to the HOLIDAYS!!! Now I just need someone to put together the sequel to Brownsugar and I'll be all set!

Tyrese Just Keeps Saying the Wrong Things.
SMH..."Jody my Jody." Yes... I realize that Jody was only a character that singer/actor Tyrese played in a movie but maybe Tyrese should apply some of "Jody's" philosophy about life to his own life. In the movie Baby Boy, Jody makes a very direct statement to Yvette when he tells her -
" I tell those other girls the truth because I don't care about them. I lie to you because I care about your feelings."
Now of course...this statement was made in reference to him cheating on his girlfriend in the movie but, I'm pretty sure there are some Tyrese fans out there, right now that wish he would just go ahead and start lying to them, so he won't continue going around saying things to hurt someone's feelings.
In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, Tyrese made the attempt to speak out about health and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. But some how that point was kind of blurred during his rant on how he felt about "fat" people.
This was the question that was asked during the interview,
What kind of responsibility do you feel as an entertainer, you have to inspire people to live healthier lifestyles?
And this was Tyrese's response.
"No two situations are the same. If you are fat and nasty and you don’t like the way you look, do something about it. It’s simple. When you take a shower and you put your fat, nasty body in the shower and by the time you get out, the mirrors are all steamed up so you don’t look at what you did to yourself. That may sound offensive or insensitive but ultimately, you are big as hell because you have earned that sh*t. You worked your a** off to eat everything in sight to get big as hell..."
Let's take a moment to digest what he just said.....okay now let's talk about it. Really Tryese??? All I can say is whoever is doing the PR for this man is really earning that check because Tyrese just does not know how to close his mouth. This is not the first time Tyrese has inappropriately opened up for all to hear and read. In the past he has tweeted some pretty obnoxious thoughts as well. Like this...

WHAT????
And then there's this one...

Maybe he doesn't realize he's referring to himself. But then again it's pretty difficult to look at the man in the mirror when the mirrors are all steamed up and he can't see what he's doing to himself. Granted...we all know that Tyrese is a VERY fit man and his image has graced the cover of several magazines and even some billboards.
But I think what's missing when Tyrese speaks is just a little bit of sensitivity. He definitely has the sensitivity training as it relates to his music but, when he decides to speak instead of sing...the conversation seems like he may be a little too harsh and direct for most. Which is why it was imperative for him to apologize for his "fat and nasty comments." And apologize is exactly what he did....kind of. He took to twitter and had this to say,
"I’m not apologizing for what I said, I’m apologizing for the bad choice of wording and execution of my point around obesity. Y’all seen my documentary, I was brought in this world from a plus size mother and my sisters are plus size as well… I am concerned always!" He went on to tweet... "this is what happens when you decide to not just be an artist or an actor but use your heart. It creates controversy and unwanted energy."
It's going to be okay Tyrese. But...even though his words lacked sensitivity, he does have a point. One statement that he made in his interview with AllHipHop.com, I completely agree with. In my opinion, he could've just said this...
#YEESSS!!

It's going to be okay Tyrese. But...even though his words lacked sensitivity, he does have a point. One statement that he made in his interview with AllHipHop.com, I completely agree with. In my opinion, he could've just said this...
"If you got a problem with the way you look, then you need to do
something about it. Excuses sound best to the people that’s making them
up."
...and closed his mouth. Nothing else needed to be said after that and he's absolutely right. If you don't like something about yourself...then change it. And you can't expect change to happen without committing to that change. Let's just hope he learns from this.
My advice for Tyrese is simply this: Keep making music; take some sensitivity training workshops so you can learn how to articulate what you feel without hurting someones feelings or sounding awkward like you did with that tweet on thinking of your kids while you're making love- (that's just weird.)-- And then just sit there quietly looking like this....and I promise you-you can't go wrong.
To Buy & Blast: Eve's Lip Lock
Well she's back and I for one have to stand up out of my chair and say, "WELL IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!"
That's right....the "illest vicious pitbull in a skirt," has given us only appetizers to the album with the release of two singles, "Oh She Bad" and "Make it out this Town." But on May 13th we will finally be fed the full course meal with the release of Lip Lock.
During an interview with Rap-Up Tv, Eve had this to say about the album,
“It feels amazing to be back. You know it definitely took a long time, but I’m happy it took this long. Because I actually feel as excited as I did the first time I came out.”
I'm excited too! Definitely be on the look out for the new album Lip Lock and my Buy & Blast: In Review to come as well.

John Legend - Down Lo?
Does John Legend have the streets buzzing because he's been talking about the "Down Lo??" The answer to that question is-- YES! Now before you go Martin Lawrence on this story and "Run Tell Dat," just relax... because it's not what you think. Or maybe it is but...not for the purpose of this story.
Mr. Legend has been maximizing his potential as an artist and has partnered with HBO to produce a new drama entitled, Down Lo. HBO, in conjunction with John Legend's film company, "Get Lifted Film Co." will be following the lives of different models, musicians and athletes who are struggling to break into the business. The show, based on South Beach, a city known for the night life will spotlight various South Beach hot spots, sports, fashion and music scenes.
The premise of the drama is to highlight the struggle of the business and the fame, and also expose secrets. Secrets like....being on the Down Lo. One of the characters in this drama just so happens to be a rapper trying to break into the hip hop music business as a man who lives his life as an "undercover gay" hip hop artist.
Hmmmm?? (Side Eye)
I know you're asking yourself the question," does this have anything to do with the life of John Legend?" Well...now that I don't know. You can draw your own conclusions. And while you're doing that, you can also be on the look out for two additional television shows from Legend's film company that he has sold the rights to. One will be another drama titled, "The Edge," which will air on the USA Network. And the other you can catch on 20th Century Fox TV, which will be a comedy loosely based on the upbringing of John Legend and is currently untitled.
The show, Down Lo is being produced/directed by Tony Krantz along with Get Lifted’s Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius. It will be written by playwright/scribe Seth Zvi Rosenfeld and Reece Pearson has signed on as the co-executive producer. No premiere date has been set as of yet.
And let us not forget what we already love him for....and that's the music. Expect the new album, Love in the Future, to be in stores and ready for you to Buy & Blast on June 25th. In a recent interview, this is what Legend had to say about the new album.
"Over the years, I've been in a comfort zone with Kanye and Dave, and we’ve had great collaborations. But this album also offers some fresh collaborations. And together that typifies the sound of this album. 'Love in the Future' has the feel of my first two albums but takes that sound forward."
We shall see when the album drops. And look for my Buy & Blast: In Review of this album soon to come.

Why is JoJo Hemmed up on the Phone??
JoJo....KNOCK IT OFF!!! I usually don't like this saying but in this case I find it appropriate.....JoJo you are NOT Bout that life boo. And this is what happens when you step into a realm of life that is not fit for you.
You get hemmed up in the streets by the dudes who actually walk that walk of life and they make you apologize for running your mouth.
Here's what happened just in case you don't have Jojo as a friend on Facebook or follow him on Twitter or keep up with his career in any facet---at all. If you were a viewer of the reality show, Run's House then you probably know that Jojo also dabbles in the music business. Not as well known or as successfully as his father, Rev Run or even his little brother Diggy but, he does his own thing. But Jojo's lack of star quality is what prompted Dipset's Juelz Santana to recite this verse from the song, "Soft" off the God Will'n mixtape, which also features Rick Ross.
"As far as that dough goes/ I’m Russell Simmons, you JoJo." That prompted JoJo to hit the booth and record a response to Juelz verse. This is what Jojo had to say in his rhyme, "Now how you gonna mention my uncle Russell / Then disrespect his nephew / The industry forgot you / f------, you nothing special/ Why you have to call my name / Thought you retired / Boy, that little bit of fame you had / That s--t had died / Tryna ride Ross' d--k to get a hit, you high."
That opened up the door to something real ugly for Jojo. But not at the hands of Juelz. No....Jojo had "the paws put on him" by a rapper by the name of Hynief who came across Jojo in the streets one day, yoked him up and made him call Santana to apologize. UndergroundTunnelTV recently caught up with Hynief and asked him about the confrontation. Click the link below to hear Hynief's response to what happened as he and the rest of the fellas pass around something smokey.
http://theurbandaily.com/2242941/juelz-santan-jojo-simmons-hynief-respond/
Hynief explains that he really doesn't care how much money Jojo has or who he's related to. If he's old enough to run his mouth then he's old enough to get touched.
Jojo also had a response to the incident. During an on camera interview the Simmons family member had this to say,
"I mean, I ain't got no comment towards it. I'm not really into the violence, I'm not really into the thug life sh*t. I'm not gonna sit here and talk about the thug sh*t. I grew up a very good kid and all that other sh*t so they can stick to that violent stuff, but me? I'ma stick to getting money. All I've been around is money all my life. I ain't been around all that -- gun sh*t, that's not what I do. What I do is I count money and I f*ck b*tches and I travel the world. That's all I do. I'm not on that violent sh*t."
"What I do is I count money and I f*ck b*tches and I travel the world?" Did he really say that??? Really JoJo??? If you are in disbelief that this is what he actually said and want to check out the interview, click the link below.

Why is everyone in "Squad Up Mode?" I have no idea. Meanwhile, Juelz is really not phased by this situation. In a recent radio interview this is what the rapper had to say, " That has nothing to do with me. ...nothing, nothing. It's just, you know...iIt's cool, he's cool, we cool. It's cool. Nothing happened, nothing's going on."
So I guess it's cool. I wonder how Rev. Run and Russell Simmons feel about this? Hmmmm??? But all this story does is make me think of Mike Epps and his song "Trying to Be a Gangster."
Lyrics- "You ain't no real gangster. You wear a seat belt everyday. How you a gangsta and you wear a seat belt? Boy you better cut it out."

But respect where respect is due...Jojo's lyrics were kind of nice.

Love & Hip Hop: K. Michelle is Moving On.
One of our favorite femme fatales from our favorite "guilty pleasure" reality show says she's done! Yup....
K. Michelle says it's a wrap for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.
In a recent interview with ABC Radio she spoke about the endless fights that she has had with just about EVERY SINGLE cast member. She wants to move forward and this is what she had to say about it.
"If I know something is unhealthy for me why keep doing it? I'm not saying that I'm not dealing with other ventures with VH1 and Mona [Scott Young, the creator]. ...You might see me in Love & Hip Hop New York. You never know."
Actually WE DO KNOW what those "other ventures" are that she's referring to. Sources say that K. Michelle is set to take a lead role in HER OWN reality show soon to come to VH1 and of course it will me under Monami Entertainment, the entertainment company of Mona Scott-Young, the current creator and Executive Producer of the L&HH franchise.
K. Michelle will be on this season's show which is set to premiere on Monday, April 22nd @ 8p on VH1. But, don't expect her to be around for a Season 3. But like I said before, DRAMA in this business will take you right to the top. But ironically enough...that's NOT the image that K. Michelle wants to keep. She now wants to go down the positve route. During a recent concert in D.C. the songstress opened up to her fans saying,
“I’m announcing that, I won’t be on ‘Love & Hip Hop’…I just feel like when God is bringing you to the positive, it’s very hard to say ‘Thank you Jesus and f**k you b****es."
SMH...Nevertheless, we still have this feisty one for Season 2 and she still has unresolved issues with both Mimi Faust and Rasheeda. In fact, reports are stating that she and Mimi got into an altercation backstage at one of her concerts during the taping of this seasons LHHA. This is what she told ABC radio,
"You know I recently spoke with Mimi -- I can't give the show away -- but I did apologize to her because at no means is it ever appropriate to slap somebody especially with my mom being there and that being my first sold out show at B. B. King's and that's very monumental for an artist and for you to come to my event; I don't do that. But I will take the responsibility...I should've just walked away from Mimi instead of making her smell the flowers."
And as for her continued beef with Rasheeda...well this is what she had to say about that,
"I have no respect for her. I hope her child doesn't have the same morals as her and her husband. The world is already messed up enough. We don't even need another seed that has no morals, no nothing."
(SMH...) K Michelle really holds no punches with that mouth of hers. And as you have probably already figured out from her comment about Rasheeda, she and her husband are expecting their second child but, that won't stop this one (K. Michelle) from talking about her. Just more reason for us to watch on Monday night or catch the encore shows if you miss it on Monday. One thing we can expect from a K. Michelle reality show is REALITY of the mouth. She just doesn't stop. From her own mouth this is what she said to her audience at a concert....
“...My mouth is still bad. I drink and act a fool.."
Let's just hope no one SHAKES TABLE on her show.

In Music: Fantasia "Without Me" in Review
Ladies-picture this....you're leaving the nail salon or hair salon from just gettin' right. Smelling good & looking good on a nice Summer day and you get in your car that's freshly washed and shining....and you turn the volume to the radio- that currently has Fantasia's new CD Side Effects of You in the disc changer, ALL THE WAY UP and put it on track 5. What's track 5 you ask? It's this sexy song titled, "Without Me," off the new album that features Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott and was produced by Harmony David Samuels, the London born producer, composer and writer.
Along with the two other hit producers that Fantasia has worked with in the past, A. Lambert and Kyle Stewart. In a recent radio interview, Fantasia stated that she wanted to take it back to the time in music where the artist worked exclusively with one set of producers instead of switching up with each song. This is exactly what she did with this album, soon to be released on April 23rd. Throughout the credits you will see these producers on each song and if it's anything like what we've already heard with her current single, "Lose to Win" and this song, "Without Me," then we are definitely in for a treat.
The song starts out with a feel and a sound that ironically enough, has a similar feel to Kelly Rowland (who's featured on this song) smash hit, "Motivation." Then Fantasia's vocals enter with these lyrics....
"you really gon' make me expose you for exactly what you are/and I’m feeling a little WAVY- so right now I don’t mind pulling your card/and as hard as you try to hide reality while we know the truth/so act brand-new if you want to---(Hook)...but what would you be without me/ where would you be without me/so what you blowing up just a little/they knowing you a little/don’t give a finger in the middle/cause (Lil' n--ga) you would never be."
YESSS! That's the tone of the song and of course Kelly and Missy make it that much better. We all know what Fantasia has endured with her last relationship and maybe this single is her release through song and her way of saying...I gave you you're moment to shine and no one would even know you're name if it wasn't for me so please don't get it twisted.
I've talked about it enough...here's the link (courtesy of Singersroom) so you can take a listen for yourself. http://singersroom.com/content/2013-04-13/Fantasia-Without-Me-Ft-Kelly-Rowland-Missy-Elliott/.
I love this song...and no matter the situation- a strong woman will bounce back!! Just like the lyrics say..."you know the truth boy/keep it 100....cause lil n--ga you would never be."
Album in stores April 23rd.

DMX: How's it Goin Down-Fix My Life
Drugs and the usage of drugs is a growing problem that many of us know about all too well because we have encountered it in some form or facet. Maybe you know someone who's sold it, smoked it or maybe you- yourself are the primary user. But nevertheless drug addiction is REAL! This past Saturday night on the OWN network we got the chance to see just how real drug addiction is when rapper, DMX sat down with Iyanla Vanzant on her show, "Fix My Life," to TRY and rekindle his broken relationship with his adult son, Xavier. If you did not get the chance to see this very heartfelt episode you can take a look by clicking on the link below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpZEMrPK57I
If you don't have the time to click on the link, allow me to sum up what took place on this episode. Xavier, the son of DMX, had not seen or spoken to his father in over a year. Why? Well, in a nutshell...it was due to the toxic behavior of DMX when he is high off of whatever drug he is using at the time. Xavier reached out to Iyanla to try to mend this broken relationship with his father and the only way that this could happen was if DMX agreed to take that step- but to take that step "clean" meaning NO DRUGS. Before I get to DMXs response let me just say how during this sit down conversation DMX TRIED to have with his son. He couldn't even look him in his eyes. He sat turned to the side for the majority of the conversation like this.
Moving on...DMX did have a heart to heart conversation by himself with Iyanla where he opened up and touched on everything from relationships, his childhood and issues with his mother, the numerous amounts of women he's been with, his failed marriage to Xavier's mother and of course...drugs. He said a lot but what stuck out for me was this comment he said about his drug habit.
"I will always have a drug problem. Just because you stop getting high, doesn’t mean that you still don’t have the problem. It’s a constant fight everyday. Every trigger that was a trigger is still a trigger..."
The rapper stated that he no longer uses cocaine or crack and also talked about the side effects that really pushed him toward ceasing his usage of the drug.
"There was a time when I thought I had to stop or I was going to lose my mind and do something that I regret because of the paranoia. You hear things louder and you think people are scheming. Paranoia is what scared me more than dying. It’s a lonely feeling and I thought about blowing my head off a few times. The only thing that stopped me was that I had children and you cant say anything to them after you are gone."
Well...what about saying something to your children now? Which brings me back to what Xavier requested of his father. He wants a relationship but he wants it "CLEAN." And in watching the show...you would think that this was the route that they were headed toward. There were moments when DMX and Xavier embraced one another with hugs. There were tears that fell from the eyes of both men, there were questions that were asked and answered and then....there was Iyanla...who every now then interjected with her own comments and opinions which prompted a very frustrated DMX to lash out by telling her to "shut the F-- up."
The scene got so intense that DMX had to leave the room and a "friend of the family" came in to address and apologize to Iyanla and Xavier on DMXs behalf. The friend of the family told Iyanla that DMX wanted to continue his conversation with his son without her being present BUT Xavier did not want to be alone in a room with his father. In an effort to allow Xavier to carry out his sole purpose for being on the show, which was to rekindle his relationship with his father, she agreed to remain quiet and keep her mouth closed if DMX came back into the room to talk to his son. DMX did come back and had the opportunity to continue to speak with his son again and also hear him play the guitar and sing. But...when his son requested that he stop the usage of the drugs in order to maintain a relationship with him his response was..."that's not gonna fly...I guess I'll see you at my funeral. Give me hug." WHAT?????? Well...Iyanla felt the same way you do right now and she opened up her mouth which prompted DMX to call her a B#@&! Of course she blew up and told him that he "does not get [the right] to talk to her that way."
The afters show drama is just as bad as the episode itself. Now DMX is accusing the OWN network of not having permission to use the footage that was shown. This is what a representative of DMX, Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services had to say,
"DMX agreed to be a guest on ‘Iyanla: Fix My Life’ with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his 10 children,” the statement says. “When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not ‘fix’ DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.”
Of course Iyanla is defending the airing of the episode saying that she did receive consent. Maybe DMX is a little nervous now that the airing of this show damaged his image and he is in the process of putting together a new album and touring.
I don't know "WHAT TYPES OF GAMES ARE BEING PLAYED (&) HOW IT'S GOING DOWN" but I pray for he and his family. And in the meantime....Iyanla has me hooked on this show. This Saturday she'll be talking to Sheree Whitfield and Ex Husband Bob Whitfield. Can't wait. And you know I'll keep you posted if you miss it. #SUPPORT DMX

Upset Fan calls Mona's mother a WHAT??
We are only DAYS away from the season premier of Love & Hip Atlanta. And many viewers and critics are NOT so HAPPY about it. The Executive Producer and creative force behind the Love & Hip Hop franchise is being ridiculed through social media sites and has even been receiving hate mail due to her producing a show that negatively depicts African American women.
During a recent interview with New York's Hot 97 radio station, Mona was asked how she feels about the personalities and behavior of some of these grown men and women on the show and how she feels about the criticism she's been receiving. Mona responded,
“What’s kind of annoying is the fact that there were tons of these shows before ‘Love & Hip Hop’ came along...I don’t always agree with the choices that they (the cast) make. [But] Do I try to provide them with a platform to promote, leverage, take them to where they’re trying to go? Absolutely. Do I always agree or subscribe to how they choose to get there, no. But again, I’m not here to pass judgment."
There is one comment that Mona made that I COMPLETELY agree with. In regards to "choices," this is what the Hip Hop Mogul had to say.
"...like everything in life, those young women(young viewers) have choices. The women on the shows have choices.”
She's absolutely right! I spoke about this before in regards to watching the DRAMA unfold in these reality shows. Why do we watch it? Who knows. Everyone has their own reasons. But regardless of what that reason is - it's still a CHOICE to sit back and watch. If you don't like what you're watching then turn the channel...it's that simple. It's the same thing that I do whenever sports comes on....I am not a fan so I turn the channel. This woman should NOT be receiving HATE messages through social media or Hate mail referring to her mother as "a Crack-Whore," just because you don't like her shows. This is what Mona shared during a recent interview with Sista2Sista magazine. She also noted the similarities that she and fellow Executive Producer, Shaunie O'Neal face with the day to day criticism.
Mona said,
“We’ve never met....[but] We get put together all the time, like on Twitter, they’ll be like, ‘@ShaunieONeal and @MonaScottYoung, you both are ratchet.”
Call them what you may but these ladies are not just getting the checks but they're signing and providing the checks to other people who probably would not be as financially comfortable as they are now without them. Take for one Rapper, Lil Scrappy.
If we remember, in the first season Lil Scrappy was sucking up to his daughter's mother, Erica requesting that she did not file for child support. More than likely, his money was a little funny because let's be real...when was the last record that Lil Scrappy released? And now, reports are saying the checks that Mona Scott-Young is providing to Lil Scrappy for doing the show - are now being garnished. Apparently, back in 2010 Scrappy was sued by Heavy Rotation Booking Agency for $72,218.68...and they have yet to receive payments. The amount has since accumulated to over $100,000 and the company has requested that a Georgia judge begin garnishing Lil Scrappy’s pay checks from the LHHA franchise until the debt is paid off. Hmmmmm.
Now see...some may not agree with the premise of these reality shows but they are definitely putting food on the table. And for some...those checks are providing a pretty big spread of food on that table. Like, Ms Nene Leakes who is now reportedly receiving over $1 Million for this season of the RHOA making her the highest paid housewife. But then again, a couple of seasons ago Nene told us and ex-cast member Sheree Whitfield that she was indeed..."A VERY Rich B*#!?" #TRUE STORY.

Jill Says It Ain't Easy: Love & Motherhood
One of the lyrics from one of my FAVORITE Jill Scott songs, Hate on Me says, "what if I gave you Diamonds out of my own womb...would you feel the love in that? Or ask why not the moon?"
There is something about these lyrics that hits home and touches the soul of a single mother - right where it hurts. It reminds you that you DID give someone Diamonds out of your own womb and for whatever reason, you and that person are no longer together. Of course I realize that each situation is different and it's not always a bitter, "I hate you" kind of situation between a mother and the father of their child. But, to know that Jill Scott is walking the path of "Single Motherhood" right along with us makes me feel like I can bare not just the burden of being a single mother, but I can tolerate being a single woman.
If you remember, back in 2007 the divorce between Ms Jill Scott and then husband Lyzel Williams was made final. The couple had been married for six years but Jill stated in an interview with The Guardian that she knew the marriage was done when her husband stopped eating her food. She stated,
“One of the reasons my ex-husband and I broke up is that he stopped eating my food. He was pissed for other reasons, but the best way to show me was by leaving what I’d made for him uneaten for days on the kitchen counter. It was a smack in the face."
It didn't take long for Jilly from Philly to bounce back. Shortly after the divorce from Lyzel, she began dating and became engaged to her drummer, Lil Jon Roberts. Together, they welcomed their first child back in 2009, Jett Hamilton Roberts. But only months after giving birth she and Lil Jon Roberts called off the engagement and went their separate ways. During a 2009 interview with Essence Magazine, Jill spoke out on the break up and raising her then, 2 month old baby boy as a single mother.
“….John and I are no longer together. When you have a baby you’re dealing with a lot of emotions and I don’t know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens,” Jill explains. “We definitely love our son and we are co-parenting and working on being friends. It is what it is. I have a lot of support, so I want for nothing as far as that’s concerned. I know some might criticize me or the fact that my son is being raised in a single-parent home, but I wasn’t raised in a two-parent home and I had a good relationship with my dad. I have hopes for him and I’m sure his father will do his part as well.” She went on to say,
“My heart and prayers go out to all single moms because it’s tough, and I can’t imagine any teenager dealing with a baby and all those hormones raging. I can afford to have this child at 37 because I have a support system and I can talk to my girls, Mo’Nique and Erykah [Badu], but I don’t understand how any mother does it alone. I don’t believe I suffered from postpartum because I didn’t feel depressed, but it was jarring and I can understand now how some mothers lose it. What he’s taught me is that I thought I was grown and patient but I was neither until now..."
Now, years later Jill is speaking out again on single parenting but this time she's being interviewed by Ebony Magazine on raising her now four year old--definitely not a two month old anymore as we can see from the cover of this month's issue of Ebony which is set to hit stands on April 16th. I'll be reading...will you?
