It wasn't enough for TV One to have me glued to the TV for shows like, Unsung and the re-runs of Martin and Living Single and R&B Divas. But, they done up and did it this time with the production of R&B Divas: LA Baby!! Don't get me wrong- I LOVE the R&B divas in ATL. Faith, Monifa and Keke are my girls but, coming to the LA stage are some pretty heavy hitters and....let's just say I hope these ladies answer the questions that have been floating around in my head for years. Before I get to the questions I want answered....let me start by telling you who the LA cast consist of. And I'm saving the best for last. Kelly Price, Chante Moore, Dawn Robinson (from EnVogue,) Claudette Ortiz(City High), and Lil' Mo and my GIRL--Michel'le!!!!! What!!!??? I'm super amped! Where do I begin? Well for one, I don't think being on this reality show will hurt any of these ladies career, if anything it should help it. Chante Moore has an album coming out in April and is divorced from R&B singer Kenny Latimore who is doing his thing right now with his latest single "Find Away." So, maybe she's using this opportunity as a stepping stool to stand tall again after a looong hiatus from the music industry. Dawn Robinson has been all up in through the social media scene for the on again off again beef she has with her former group mates from EnVogue and I really hope she sheds some light on that situation through this show. Lil' Mo still remains the homegirl from up the street to me. She just has this cool vibe that she gives off in her interviews and even through her music but, it WON'T shock me if she comes with LOADS of DRAMA to this series. The beautiful Claudette from City High. Ya'll remember City High....(singing)"what would you do if you're son was at home crying all alone on the bedroom floor cause he's hungry and the only way to feed him is to sleep with a man for a little bit of money." One of the dopest songs from that time. But, Ms Ortiz was in a Drama-filled marriage with one of the band members, Ryan Toby and has been divorced for a while now. But, again...hopefully she'll speak more candidly about the ups and downs of that relationship during the show. Now...last but not least. The girl with the pretty eyes and the squeaky voice from back in the day....MICHEL'LE!!!! OMG! Where have you been? Well I did a little research and I found out that she's married to the very intimidating-looking Suge Knight! WOW!! If I remember correctly she was dating Dr. Dre at one point when she was signed to Eazy E's label. But, Suge came through and punked everybody out of their original contracts and put every signed artist on Death Row Records. Michel'le and Dr Dre included. She has a son with Dr Dre and kids with Suge Knight. But one things is clear and that is that this woman can SAAANNNNGG! Or at least she could back in the day. And if you don't know who Michel'le is please Google her and go to Youtube to listen to her music. You can play my all time favorite song from her, "Something in Your Heart." Needless to say......I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL THE SUMMER. I'll keep you posted on the exact date. Until we meet again....keep smiling because I definitely will. But, that's just me being me.
