To Buy and Blast!: Fred Hammond United Tenors

We've been hearing talk of it for a while now but, no more speculation needed.  Fred Hammond has joined forces with solo artists Dave Hollister, Eric Roberson, and Brian Courtney Wilson and formed the super-group - the United Tenors project.  The album will reach a store near you on March 26th.  The first single which is featured in the clip below is , "Here in our Praise."  I've always felt that Dave Hollister has a voice for Gospel and he is now sharing his talent with three other talented brothers in Gospel.  Definitely Buy and Blast on March 26th.  Go Fellas!!

Check out a sample of what you will get on the album from this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STBx7EaTr4E&feature=player_embedded

Make room for The Queen.

The Queen is coming to a TV screen in front of you.  Starting in September we will be able to see the Queen on a daily basis hosting her new daytime talk show, The Queen Latifah Show.

Is there anything this woman can't do?  Absolutely not!  The Queen still reigns with several titles under her belt such as, rapper; actor; singer; producer; covergirl; and now talk show host.  Can we say ROLE MODEL!

"The Queen Latifah Show will feature celebrity interviews, human interest stories, comedy, pop culture and musical performances. It is expected to showcase Queen Latifah’s talents, blending comedy and music into her hosting duties. - Deadline.com"  The show is Executive Produced by the Queen, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.  It will premiere on a CBS station near you on September 16th.  This will be Latifah's second go at hosting daytime tv.  But, with all the successful players involved-I'm sure it will be better the second time around.

New to the Game

Maybe BET is gearing up to bring life back to sitcom TV.  Though it started as speculation, it is now officially confirmed that Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry will not be returning to Season 6 of The Game as series regulars.  Instead of attempting to find actors to fill the shoes of Derwin Davis and Melanie Barnett, they opted to bring in fresh faces and fresh characters.  These new characters are Bryce "The Blueprint" Westbrook and girlfriend Keira Whataker.  Jay Ellis is the newcomer set to play Bryce.  Here's what BET had to say about Jay and his character Bryce.

Bryce is the  No. 1 draft pick from an Ivy League school. He's often the smartest person in the room and strives to prove he is no average “dumb jock,” which can rub his new teammates the wrong way. Even though he is bright, he is still a young man who has a lot to learn about life, love and himself. The expectations for him entering the pros are through the roof.

As for the lady in his life, Keira Whitaker, played by the beautiful Lauren London, here's what BET had to say about her character.

Keira Whitaker is a 25-year-old actress who became quite famous for playing one of the children in a long running Cosby-esque family sitcom. Since the sitcom’s cancellation and entering her early twenties, Keira has had a difficult time finding roles and transitioning into an adult actress. She is bright, charming and, since the age of five, quite comfortable with the spotlight. Her insecurities come into play as she tries to navigate through a new world, and fears that her days in the spotlight are numbered.

We can look forward to witnessing the chemistry of this new couple on the Season 6 premiere of the Game set to air on March 26th.

To Buy and Blast: Tweet: Simply Tweet

Okay...so let's take it back to 2002 when Tweet released the "cocky girl's anthem" Oops (Oh My.)  You remember the song where she was looking so good she had to touch herself.  What?  Those are her lyrics...not mine.  Well she's back with new music and I was given the opportunity to listen to one of the new singles off the newly released EP Simply Tweet entitled, "Enough" and all I can say is just from that song alone...I must definitely add Tweet to the BUY & BLAST List.

The song immediately took me back to her debut album, Southern Humming Bird, with the sultriness of her voice and her unique style of singing that had me sitting close to the speakers as she sang about, "smoking cigarettes at night or my favorite song, "Always Will."  Although she's signed to a new label now, The DuBose Music Group, one thing that hasn't changed is her passion for music.  Here's her thoughts on the new album.

“This album will reveal the growth I’ve experienced vocally as well as personally. On the first album I was very scared, unsure but carefree, releasing a lot that was built up inside. The second album was a mixture of me almost knowing who I was as an artist but again unsure because I had to compromise my sound. I felt I had no voice. Now I think I’ve truly come to know who I am as an artist and as a woman. I can now speak for myself and be. I’m not afraid to go for it and this album will show that.”

And YES...the EP is available NOW! To listen to her new music and re-visit some of her old....check out the website iamsimplytweet.com.
